Bring anything that you think might help you during your tattoo like headphones, a blanket, socks, snacks, etc. Please wear the right attire for the location of your tattoo so your artist can access the area.
Unfortunately, MEOW MEOW does not offer piercings. Check out Fox Labyrinth for your piercing needs.
The best thing to do in this case is to find visuals of things similar to what you are thinking. Similar shape, colors, texture, location, concept, etc. Having visuals to help communicate what you like to your artist will be most effective. Text your artist the images and describe what you like about each image and describe what you're looking for as best you can. After that, if necessary, we'll set up an in person consultation to clarify and brainstorm.
check out all of our artist portfolios in the Artists tab, and reach out directly to the artist who has the most similar style to what you're looking for. If the artist decides that's not something they can/want to do, we can do our best to direct you to the right artist
It can/does, but probably not as much as you think, and you walk away with a great piece of art made just for you. The pain level varies on the individual, the placement on the body, and many other factors. A compromised immune system, period, stress, can also decrease your body's pain tolerance. Tattoo pain is commonly described as similar to a cat scratch or a rug burn....but for a longer period of time.
Your body will naturally react to the pain and produce adrenaline to help you through it.
Tiny needles inject permanent tattoo ink into the second layer of skin (dermis). Since your body cannot break down the ink and absorb it, it remains where the ink was put. A new layer of top skin (epidermis) is formed on top. This is why skin health is tattoo health and color varies on individuals.
Any puncture to the skin carries risk of infection. Any foreign substance (ink) in your body can cause an allergic reaction. Before getting a tattoo, check that it is performed in a reputable salon under sanitary conditions by a trained and licensed artist who follows proper sterilization procedures and takes other precautions such as wearing gloves, clean needles, high quality ink, etc. A good artist should be able explain the procedure and demonstrate what will happen without making you feel like you’re asking too many questions. Meow Meow artists only use sterile, single-use, disposable needles and equipment so you can rest assured we put a premium on safety.
A reputable artist should be knowledgeable about the tattoo and aftercare process, have a current license visibly displayed, and be able to show you examples of past work. He or she should make you feel comfortable and should get your absolute approval before starting any work. No matter how talented, if an artist is being disrespectful, isn’t paying attention to your questions and concerns, they probably aren't the right artist for you.
Tattoos are permanent, but the ink can look lightened with time in areas that are often exposed to the sun or if not properly cared for. On areas where the skin meets a lot of friction, like your fingers or elbows, ink may not take well.
With advancements in technology like Laser removal, it is possible for some individuals to remove or lighten a tattoo. But your best bet is to be sure you want the tattoo you are getting forever and make sure the artist you choose is able to give you the quality you desire.
